DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD? (2010)
Chonda Pierce begins by discussing about petitions to make marijuana legal in California and ends in a beautiful rendition of Blessed Assurance.
Did I say that out loud?, released on April 6, 2010, reveals yet again her brilliant, witty sense of humor. For the first time, she ends her performance by opening the floor for questions and answering in way she does best – “saying out loud whatever pops into her mind.”
“I come straight from the world of wooden pews and hell fire preaching. Some of it probably did a little damage – that’s where I get my warped sense of humor – but most of those days gave me solid roots,” she says. “You learn a lot from your past – what to weed through and throw out and what to hold onto forever.”
This DVD will keep you laughing all 70 minutes as she tells her hometown in Tennessee about life in LA, posing as a lesbian in Cancun to save money on a honeymoon package, and poorly cleaned hotel rooms that carry a little more than she expected. “I said stiff sheets, not a stiff in the sheets!” she jokes.
Chonda Pierce is also an author and singer. She has written six top-selling books including Laughing in the Dark and Roadkill on the Highway to Heaven, and she has also appeared on television shows, Grand Ole Opry, “Aspiring Women,” and Total Living Network. In 2006, she founded “Branches Recovery Center” for people to struggle with recovery issues.
