KING ARTHUR (2004)
There have been many versions the story of Camelot, but King Arthur is the greatest I’ve ever seen. It takes the story and pushes it into a history setting where Rome ruled and oppressed England with their so called faith.
The Catholic Church was so corrupt that they stole the lives of the English people instead of saving their souls. That is not true faith; it is organized religion. They use their power for their own purpose, not God’s.
In this film, organized religion is selfish, oppressive, and murderous just like the film portrays the Roman church. The only true Christian in the film is Arthur. He give the people justice from the Romans and kindness no matter how high the risks.
The church doesn’t belong in power. It never did. Every time the church gains power they become corrupt. If we as Christians have any chance of fulfilling our Great Commission, then we must not gain such power. With power, we become a religion and cease to be follower of Christ.
Every time I lose myself, I think on Christ. How He taught, how he outreached, and how He lived. He was humble, and He was nonjudgmental, and He forgave absolutely. This is true love. Christ and Christ alone should be our only role model. Everyone else is flawed, sinful, and untrustworthy. If you don’t have Christ as your own role model, then your ministry is flawed. Think on Christ, always.
