Christian pop artist and songwriter, Kerrie Roberts, debuted on August 24 with her very first ten-track album. Her single, “No Matter What”, quickly climbed the charts on radio already reaching the Top Twenty on Billboard’s AC Monitored chart and CHR format, and it is still climbing.
She wrote her songs based on the theme that Christian faith does not exempt believers from a hard life and suffering, but that God’s love and promises should motivate us to live faithfully despite our pain. She dedicates her songs to the broken hearts in all of us in hope to promote healing and inspiration for God’s work.
“’No Matter What’ is a declaration to serve God because He saved you from your sin”, says Roberts in on her website, “not because He’s saving you from the pain of this life”.
With her powerful voice and inspirational lyrics, Kerrie Roberts is predicted to be the next big Christian artist. In “Unstoppable”, she sings that God loves everyone despite how bad their sins may have been in the past, and it is never too late to turn their lives around. Whether it be the slow, sad “Keep Breathing” or the proud, upbeat “Outcast”, Kerrie Roberts’ songs will leave you feeling better about the struggles of life, which is a breath of fresh air in these hard economic times.
The dedication inside the album cover includes Psalm 30:12, which reads, “That my heart may sing to you and not be silent, O Lord my God. I will give you thanks forever.”
Thus, that is how Kerrie Roberts praises God. Since the age of five she has used her gift of singing, starting in her church choir, and now, by recording her first album. Hopefully it will be the first of many.
