NONRELIGIOUS ARE UNDERREPRESENTED IN CONGRESS

So I came across this in the news (video below). It is possible that many politicians, in order to be elected, falsely claim to be Christian. If all those serving in government are truly Christian, then there seems to be a lot of hypocrisy going on.

Should a person's religion even be a consideration for a position in government? If it was not a consideration, there would be a lot less hypocrisy. To be a follower of Jesus has more to do with the way you live than with the claims you make.
Some interesting points made in this news videos are:

20% of Americans are religiously unaffiliated.

91% of congress members claim to be Christian. (But, are they really?)

The non-religious (aka "The Nones") are the fastest growing group over any other religious group, but they are under-represented in government.

Only 58% of Americans say they would consider voting for an atheist!

What do you think of this situation?
