TOUR World Tour available on DVD/CD

Beginning in the fall of 2009, the Playing for Change  band journeyed on its first world tour. The tour is available on DVD and CD, so music lovers of all kinds can enjoy the experience from the comfort of their own homes. The DVD includes recordings from the concerts, Bonus Videos, and The Film, On the Road with the PFC Band  that includes exclusive interviews. The 10 track CD is audio recording of the DVD’s concerts, so you may enjoy the music from your stereo, in your car, or on you ipod/MP3 player.

The band members are musicians from all over the world including Kinshasa, Amsterdam, Israel, Gugulethu, L.A., New Orleans, Zimbabwe, and The DR Congo. They were brought together by Creator and Producer Mark Johnson to accomplish one goal: “Unity through Music”. Their individual stories are available on The Film.

“When we come together as a band, there’s no ego, there’s no bad energy, there’s nothing. We listen… We put [the music] together and there’s the flame coming out. The fire,” said vocalist Mermans Kenkosenki in the Film.

The band reincarnates many reggae classics including Bob Marley’s One Love and Bobby McFerrin’s Don’t Worry Be Happy. Their mix of reggae, oldies, and African music is astounding. Though the songs are different in genre, they all have one thing in common, love. The tour has been a huge success. Their shows sold out and the audiences loved them.

In an effort to contribute music education, the band has established the Playing For Change Foundation. It offers such as facilities, instruments, and other resources to musicians in poor areas of the country. They have already succeeded in opening two schools in South Africa and Ghana. Other programs are also developing in Mali, Nepal, Rwanda, and Jamaica.

“The message of Playing for Change, the message of  the Playing for Change Foundation, and the message for the Playing for Change band are really all the same,” said creator Mark Johnson. “We share this planet, and we need to inspire each other, and we need to make the world a better place. We have one vision, and we have one love.”

The DVD/CD is available for sale online. You may also download the song, Stand By Me , for free. It has already received over 30 million hits. If you love reggae, African, oldies, or rock music, then this is a must have for you collection. Check them out today.
