YOUNG EVANGELICALS FOR CLIMATE ACTION

  • By Cara Buckley

Here is an exciting new group of young evangelical Christians who believe that we should be involved with climate change.

HERE IS WHAT THEY ARE SAYING:

Climate change: not just an environmental problem, but a humanitarian crisis; not just a future threat, but also a present reality; a growing driver of hunger, thirst, instability, disasters, conflict, migration, poverty, injustice.

It doesn't have to stay this way. Solutions are growing that can transform us and our communities: from being vulnerable to climate impacts to being prepared and resilient, and from causing future climate pollution to creating a clean economy and environment. This transformation is happening, but not fast enough on its own. We need to change faster than the climate.

We need to move our peers, families, leaders, campuses, churches, economies, countries, world into action. Young Evangelicals for Climate Action: We are coming together to protect God's World and transform our communities by 1) mobilizing and empowering our generation 2) Influencing our faith and political leaders 3) Cultivating prayer 4) Partnering across borders. Join us. Be a part of the movement. Be a part of the solution.
YECA leader Lindsay Mouw was featured on CNN's ASPIREist program for her inspiring work moving the church past climate skepticism and toward faithful engagement. This work is happening in churches and on college campuses across the country by leaders just like Lindsay!
